Windows warning on first launch? Here is how.
The first time you open Diktavo, Windows may show a blue box: “Windows protected your PC”. This is normal and not a virus. Diktavo is not yet signed with a paid certificate, so Windows does not recognise the file yet. Once enough people have run Diktavo (or we buy the certificate), the message disappears.
Launch in two clicks
- In the blue box, click “More info” (small link under the text).
- Click the “Run anyway” button.
Done. Diktavo starts and you never have to do this again.
Is it safe?
Yes. Speech recognition runs 100% locally on your PC; your voice never leaves it. Diktavo only connects for your account, updates, and the optional leaderboard (which sends nothing but a word count, never your text). If you are signed in, your dictation history syncs to our server so it follows you across your devices. If you want to be completely sure, you can scan the downloaded file before launching at VirusTotal, where over 70 antivirus engines check it at once.
