Right of Withdrawal & Refunds

Statutory Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

Consumers in the EU have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days. For digital content, this right can expire early if the provider obtains the consumer's express consent, before download, to begin performance immediately, together with the consumer's acknowledgment that doing so forfeits the right of withdrawal. When you purchase through Polar, no such waiver is obtained; your statutory right of withdrawal therefore remains in place, and refunds are handled under Polar's Buyer Terms. Independently of this, we also grant the 14-day satisfaction guarantee described below.

14-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not satisfied within 14 days of the date of your purchase confirmation, we will refund the purchase price, no questions asked. A brief email to support@diktavo.com is all it takes.

Faults, Defects and Cure

Alongside withdrawal and the guarantee there is the case of a technical fault, for example where your payment went through but Pro was not activated. If you withdraw within the 14 days or invoke the satisfaction guarantee, we refund you in money, with no cure, no reason given and no waiting period. If instead you would like us to fix the problem, please report it to support@diktavo.com. We will then carry out the activation within a reasonable period, free of charge and without significant inconvenience to you, or remedy the fault in another way (cure, see section 8 of the Terms and Licence Conditions). If one attempt is unsuccessful, if we refuse to cure, or if we do not do so within a reasonable period, you can immediately demand a price reduction, termination of the contract and your money back.

This sequence applies only where you are relying on a defect or a disruption. It does not apply to your statutory right of withdrawal and it does not apply to the 14-day satisfaction guarantee: for those two you do not have to report a defect, you do not have to give a reason and you do not have to give us an opportunity to fix anything, and neither of them is delayed, restricted or made conditional by this sequence. Reporting a fault is not a precondition for your rights, it only helps us help you faster. Conversely, you do not have to accept a repayment if you would rather we fixed the problem. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

Digital Content

Before buying, you can use Diktavo permanently on the free plan and test the full feature set (3,000 words per week, unlimited for the first 7 days). A later paid purchase does not affect your statutory right of withdrawal (see above); our voluntary satisfaction guarantee applies on top of it.

Process

Refunds are issued by our payment provider, Polar Software Inc., to your original payment method. The refund is processed without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after we receive your request. You will not incur any costs for this.

Vouchers as an Optional Alternative

In some cases we offer you a voucher or a Pro code instead of a repayment in money, for example an extension of your Pro access. Such an offer is always an additional option and never a replacement: it takes effect only if you expressly accept it. Silence, a late reply or no reply at all is never treated as acceptance. Its value is never lower than the amount we would otherwise refund you, measured against the price you paid. A voucher is only ever considered in the case of technical faults and within the voluntary 14-day satisfaction guarantee.

If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, you always get your money back, to your original payment method as described above under "Process"; no voucher takes the place of that repayment and we do not offer one for it. You can insist on money at any time and without giving a reason. A voucher replaces neither your statutory right of withdrawal, nor your statutory rights in respect of defects, nor the 14-day satisfaction guarantee. If you decline it, you suffer no disadvantage as a result, and you never incur any costs. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
